Danville Natives

For a town of only 34,000, Danville has produced some serious star power.  In addition to its most famous sons -- Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, Gene Hackman, Bobby Short, and Donald O'Connor -- Danville was also home to Space Shuttle astronaut Joe Tanner, 1930's actress Helen Morgan, author Helen Wells, former speaker of the House "Uncle" Joe Cannon, NFL quarterback and coach Zeke Bratkowski, and many others.   Most of them are honored with a series of street markers located throughout the city.  An abbreviated map appears below.
